Few healthy, onion- and garlic-free Indian vegetarian recipes that support weight loss:
- 1 cup moong dal (yellow split lentils)
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, chopped (optional)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
**Method:**
1. Wash and cook moong dal with enough water in a pressure cooker or pot until soft.
2. In a pan, heat a little oil and temper cumin seeds, ginger, and green chili.
3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
4. Add the cooked dal, turmeric powder, and salt. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
5. Stir in lemon juice and fresh coriander leaves before serving.
